Mouth, iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Forest Hideaway is a basic yet comfortable
private house that accommodate 5 guests in two rooms. The hideaway offer you
the perfect base only 15 minutes from the mouth. Your hosts also run the famous Safari And Surf - Wilderness Adventures, so you are in great hands!

The unit accommodate 5 guests in two rooms.
A Spacious bathroom is shared
between guests with a toilet, basin and shower.
The kitchen is equipped with all
your basic needs!
Freezer/fridge is powered by gas and a two burner gas cooker is installed for cooking.
The unit has a small counter and lounge for very foul
weather although this don't often happen.
Outside a lovely deck stretch out
against the forest where the fireplace/braai is only a couple of meters away.
We have a daily cleaning service and bath towels are supplied.
Why visit Kosi Bay Mouth?
Kosi Bay Mouth is situated in the far north-eastern corner of kwaZulu-Natal, a mere 4km from the border of Mozambique. The Kosi lake system is made up of four interlinking lakes and a long shallow estuary that link it with the warm Indian ocean via the mouth. It is here at the mouth where all the magic happen!
The famous snorkeling area is known as “The Aquarium” where we have identified just over 200 different species on our Snorkeling Adventures. The estuary, due to its shallow nature, offers perfect kayaking conditions around the mangrove forests and into river Kukalwe. If you are keen to tick of a couple of special birds on your visit, our birding guides are ready to assist and know all the hotspots! If fly fishing or trail running is on your list of things to do, rest assure that you have found paradise!
Vehicle access
We suggest 4×4 vehicles for the area although transfers are available
everywhere. We have safe secure parking close by where vehicles with very low clearance can be parked.
Shops and supplies
The closest shop, although basic, is at the border post 4km away. For a bigger variety of supplies Manguzi town got a Shoprite and Spar. Firewood can be arranged from our friendly neighbors.
Restaurants
Our direct community offer a Mozambique style ‘barraca” experience. Peri peri chicken, salad and chips served with an ice cold 2M beer.
A bigger selection of restaurants are available around 3rd lake, roughly 15km’s away.
Malaria
The Kosi Bay region is a low risk area. We do have mozzie nets to ensure a peaceful nights sleep.
